A summer semester spent studying architecture in and around Copenhagen included the hypothetical design of a floating boat rental facility near the Christianhavn's Bridge.
Taking cues from Finnish designer Alvar Aalto, interior details including furniture and door fixtures were designed.
The form references an aquatic form while cradling a floating central platform, allowing an circular harbor space for guests to board the boats. The building itself transitions in scales from its street-side entrance, down to a humble scale at its farther extent into the water. Simple modern materials of glass curtain walls and pitched, flat roof minimize its presence and complement other Danish Modern architecture found along the waterfront.
